NO, YOU CANNOT SMOKE IT! This is the answer to the question we usually hear when we present or hempfiber-skatedecks. We`re really not into Marihuana! Our business are the great attitudes of hemp when you need a really strong material to build anything. Hemp supplies us with nearly the strongest fibers you can find in nature. Beside the oil from the seed manhood uses hemp since thousands or years to produce the best ropes and textiles. You should know that the sails of Christoph Columbus`ship were made from exactly the same fabric as we use for our Cannaboard-skatedecks. Why build a Skateboard from hemp?? It`s important to know that the "mother-company" of CANNABOARD develops and produces many different products made of reinforced materials for more than two decades. Always aiming at using natural, ecological stuff as a substitute for plastics. Building a skateboard the problem is not plastic but the fact, that you have to cut dowm eighty year old maple trees to manufacture fast breaking decks. The hemp needs only six months until we are able to make a nearly unbreakable one! |

More than 20 years of experience in working with all kind of fibres enabled us to
start developing a hemp-skateboard. At the beginning our goal was to use 100% hemp.
But soon we had to learn that this way the decks had too much weight. So we made a
little compromise and put in about 5% of high-tech-fibres like carbon and Kevlar.
Although this amount is really a minimum, about 800 000 metres of these ultrathin
fibres make their way through each Cannaboard. Hundreds of tests on special machines and also on the street were necessary to create a skateboard that is about 8 (eight!) times stronger than any wooden board! Also the grafics on Cannaboards are not comparable to those of wooden decks. We created a very unique system to bring the colours "into" the deck. This way also the grafics are enormous resistant. |
We still didn`t reach the end of the way. We are working continuously on improving our decks and aim at a 100%-hemp-skateboard. Each time we hear about the bad situation of our planet and the scary change of climate we know that it`s our job to introduce highly ecological products to the world!
